, actualizado , Comment regular icon0 comments

Let's talk about a strong deck in the current metagame that has gained a strong ally, or in this case a companion: Rakdos Sacrifice + Obosh, the Preypiercer.

The idea of the deck is very simple: we play low-cost creatures to start attacking the opponent from the early game, while in the mid / late game we start to sacrifice our own creatures (sometimes our opponent's too, thanks to Claim the Firstborn) to do even more damage with Mayhem Devil and Judith, the Scourge Diva. And now, with the reinforcement of Obosh, the Preypiercer this damage is doubled.

BUDGETING THE DECK

Since the ideia is to budget the decklist, we will cut the rare and mythic cards and, therefore, remove the companion from the deck. In doing so, we are no longer stuck with only odd-cost cards in the deck.

We will keep the "cat in the oven" combo in our deck, which gives us the access to drain 1 life point in every turn. So 4 copies of each Cauldron Familiar and Witch's Oven are in.

We will also keep the 4 copies of each Whisper Squad and [card] (Serrated Scorpion). The Squad helps to filter the deck while keeping our battlefield full (for attacks or sacrifices), while the Scorpion helps us drain more life from our opponent.

And since the idea of the deck is to sacrifice, we will keep the 4 copies of Mayhem Devil that will deal 1 damage to any target whenever any player sacrifices a permanent. (this does at least 2 damage if we have Cauldron Familiar and Witch's Oven) in the field).

Since we are not using rare cards, 2 copies of Judith, the Scourge Diva and 4 copies of [card] (Woe Strider) were cut, even though they help to cause damage and sacrifice creatures and filter the deck, respectively. To compensate, we added 4 of eachFireblade Artist and Slaughter-Priest of Mogis, both to help us sacrifice creatures and deal damage in the process.

Speaking of sacrificing, we also added 2 of each Heartfire and Call of the Death-Dweller. The first helps to cause more damage, while the latter recover the important creatures that were destroyed.

We will keep the 4 copies of Claim the Firstborn to take the opponent's low-cost creatures, attack him with them and even sacrifice to take value from our creatures.

This version of the deck does not require the 4 copies of Heraldic Banner, so we will remove them.

For the mana basis, all copies of Blood Crypt and Castle Locthwain were cut and replaced for more copies of Swamp and Mountain. The copies of Fabled Passage were replaced for Evolving Wilds to maintain the Mayhem Devil's trigger via land sacrifice.

With these changes we arrive at the following list:

The deck still remains fast and aggressive in the first turns, and if the game extends to a point where the opponent places creatures larger than ours, the deck can still finish the game via sacrifice trigger instead of attacking.

I hope you enjoyed and see you soon.
